Mr. Tiger's Wedding Day

Odd season of LA, it rains since December as if this is somewhere in rain forest area in Asia. Like today, serious pouring rain then a little bit of sun shine peaking out with drizzle, that's when Mr. Tiger gets married.

If you've ever heard of 호랑이 장가가는 날 [ho-rahng-ee-jang-ka-ka-neun-nal], that's what it is. When it rains with sun out, which doesn't happen often in Korea either, go ahead and say "I guess Mr. Tiger is getting married today."

Because lion is somewhat equivalent "fierce animal" to the tiger, people also jokingly say "Mr. Lion's wedding day" when it snows with sun light out.

If you ask me what story that phrase is from, the only story I've heard is that there was Ms. Fox loving Mr. Tiger but he didn't know and ended up getting married to another creature and Ms. Fox was sad & crying. So. rainy & sunny day is also called 여우비 (yu-woo-bi, meaning "fox rain").

IF it really rains or snows in your wedding day, which is unpleasant in a lot of ways and becuase of that reason (I guess to make you feel better), people will say the married couple will live happily ever after.
